ABOUT US
Kae Me Beads is the business outcome of a passion to showcase the rich culture, history, values and treasures of Africa to the world. The use of beads in Africa can be traced to the last 12,000 years. The earliest beads were made of eggshell, clay, twigs, stones, ivory and bone. After that came glass beads from early trading on the continent. Since then, African artisans have become highly skilled in the making of glass and brass beads, using recyced glass, bare hands, non-mechanized tools, ptaint and culturally motivated manufacturing tactics. Our brass beads are also hand-made from recycled brass artifacts (e.g., padlocks, door handles), using a unique lost wax process that involves molten metal casting with wax models. We devoted time and resources into researching and understanding the full life cycle of glass and brass beads and opportunities in the global jewelry and crafts industry. We subsequently discovered the treasure that we strongly believe, should be shared with the world and that's how the business of Kae Me Beads started.

"Kae Me" is an Akan (Ghanaian language) phrase meaning "Remember Me". This name reflects the uniqueness and rich cultural history behind hand-made and painted glass and brass beads sourced from all-natural raw materials in Ghana and made into voguish bracelets with character - some with a hint of multi-cultural styling influences. The treasure found from our journey and experience is what we would love for you and bead lovers worldwide to experience and remember. We complement these operational practices and customer service focused on you, our prospective and valued customers. Here, we have designed and carefully selected combinations of hand-made glass beads and threaded these into high quality bracelets styled to diverse senses of fashion.
